At the end of the first century, there were over 1,000,000 Christians. I would assume that they all would have had the heavenly hope, but I guess only 144,000 would have really had their ticket punched for the journey to heaven. Then Russel and his gang came around and they were also going to heaven as part of the 144,000. God must have kicked some of the first century Christian out of heaven to make room for the JW's.

How many anointed have come and gone; how many remain?
by Moster injust wondering if there is any data about how many anointed there were in say 1914, and considering most would have passed 'beyond the veil' already, are the jw's numbers adding up?
we know there are more in 2017 then there were in 2016, but just where are we in the grand total column?.

We have no idea if the Witchtower's annual numbers are accurate. They could be padding any numbers and who would no the difference?

The number of congregations are up but I wonder what the number of Kingdom Halls were? They are still showing growth despite the reports of many leaving.

Fasten Your Seatbelts - The Crazy Has Started (Also, bring the Koolaid)
by berrygerry infrom facebook:just saw my jw mother after not seeing her for more than 2 years.
when i do see her, it is brief, she never asks about my life, doesn't ask about my 4 children her grandchildren, doesn't ask about my grandchildren...her great grandchildren, she doesn't ask about my other 2 brothers that she is also alienated from, she doesn't ask about my brothers family.
she doesn't talk about the jw/org either.

When my dubby wife starts talking about how bad the world is and the end is just around the corner, I remind her that things were a hell of a lot worse during WWII over 70 years ago.
If my mom was alive, she would have her three day supply ready, bag packed, and by the door just waiting for the gibbering botty to say "run". I would tell her that you can come and hang out at my house when your food runs out.

JW's are in the twilight zone. It would be so cool to have the twilight zone music play over the speaker system in a kingdumb hall and no one could turn it off.

"No time to be happy now. In the “new system” (another term for their paradise Earth) we can be happy then." That is exactly how I felt and it is still how my JW wife still feels. She is miserable with the FOG and the Watchtower Company treadmill.

The Governing Body Doing The Math As Corporate CEOs
by Brokeback Watchtower inlett announce to his braindead indoctrinated rank and file masses the wt corporation is short on funds and so they have money problems.
he made light of his role and the rest of management's predicament by saying on a public broadcast: "in doing the math we found that the amount of money flowing out will be much greater than the amount of money coming in at this time".
clearly the guys on the gb have very little business sense to let things get so out of hand with tons of projects in the works and having to close all of them except for warwick, and one in england.. i have to wonder just what type of math these dead heads on the gb even know or consider when making all their plans for the future of the corporation they have leadership over.

A corporation expands from using the profits they have made. A company does not go to its workers to ask for money to expand unless some percentage of ownership is given.

If there was a resurrection in paradise
by Sour Grapes insomething that bothered me even when i was a watchtower company drone was the thought of dying and being resurrected in paradise.
would the resurrected person really be me or just a copy of me?
if god could recreate one of me, he could also recreate five of me.

The only proof of any resurrections taking place is found in the Bible. The Bible is so filled with fairy tales that it detracts from anything that may have been factual. There were nine examples of resurrections and every one of them had the original body to work with. The bodies would have been decayed so some heavy restoration on the bodies would have been required.
Dieing and going to heaven I could believe in since your life continues without interruption, your life just continues in a different body form.

Bad Wolf....I really appreciate your post and it got me to think. I am always thinking of things that should make a JW use what little thinking ability they have left.
Here is the story. Let's say that I am a faithful JW and one day God says to me, "Brother Sour Grapes to strengthen your faith in the resurrection let's say you died 10 years ago, were cremated and your ashes were spread on the ocean. Since you were a faithful drone I am going to recreate you like in the resurrection.
Five minutes later sitting directly across from me is the recreated me. He looks exactly how I do and has every memory that I have, the same personality, height, weight, warts, and wrinkles. I am in complete awe being impressed by God's work and my faith in the resurrection is now stronger.
Now God tells me, "Sour Grapes, now we can't have two of you being around because that would be very confusing to everyone. Are you ready to die right now? The recreated you will now take over."
Would you want to die and let the other guy take over? Of course not because the recreated you is not you, it is just a clone of what you were.
